The man who becomes your husband will be the one you must obey, as this is the command of God to you (as a Muslim woman).
“If a woman consistently performs the five daily prayers, fasts during the month of Ramadan, guards her chastity (from adultery), and truly obeys her husband, then it will be said to this noble woman: ‘Enter Paradise through any gate you wish.’”
(Narrated by Ahmad 1: 191 and Ibn Hibban 9: 471. Shaykh Shu’aib Al Arnauth stated that this hadith is authentic)
Therefore, be careful not to choose a husband who might exploit you because of your obligation to obey him.
